10 December: anniversary of the death of King Leopold I. On that day, or a close date, the president and the members of the board of directors go to the Crypt in Laeken in order to, by means of laying a wreath, honour the memory of the founder of the Order of Leopold and that of all deceased sovereigns who were Grand Master in the Order.
All members are invited to join them. The wreath has an amaranth ribbon wearing the inscription: “The Association of the Order of Leopold to the founder of the Order and its deceased Grand Masters”.
17 Februari (or a close date): a delegation of the Association of the Order of Leopold is invited to attend a homage ceremony at the Church of Our Lady in Laken to commemorate the deceased members of the Royal Family.
21 Juli: a delegation is invited to attend the Te Deum service, sung at the Cathedral of Saint Michel et Sainte Gudule. Some places are also available to attend the parade of the troops and auxiliary services.
11 November: in the same capacity as the patriotic associations, a delegation of the Association is invited to attend the ceremony at the tomb of the unknown soldier.
15 November: the King’s Feast. A delegation is invited to participate at the Te Deum service sung at the Cathedral of Saint Michel et Sainte Gudule. Many members are present in the capacity of their previous function or simply as a private person.
On this occasion (or on a close date) the members of the Association are also invited to a gala concert by the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides.
The above list is anything but exhaustive
For example, on the occasion of the wedding of HRH Prince Laurent to Miss Claire Coombs, the Society had the honor of sending a representative of the Order to the wedding mass celebrated in the Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula.
On 13 June 2003 all members were invited to a homage concert by the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides at the Saint Jacques sur Coudenberg church on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the death of King Baudouin. It was organised by the Museum of the Dynasty in collaboration with the Bellevue Trust from the King Baudouin Foundation and the association The Friends of the Royal Symphonic Band of the Belgian Guides.
